Living in a multi level house, one issue we had was convenient indoor/outdoor flow.
While we had flow from the rumpus to the outdoor living/pool area it was far removed from the kitchen area. In reality this meant much time traipsing up and downstairs ferrying food and items backwards and forwards. There was also little shelter from the prevailing westerly wind.
Having been recommended Characterise Renovations, we engaged them to build a covered outdoor area over our existing garage, while extending the garage to incorporate a workshop and gym. A good architectural design was further enhanced by practical advice and suggestions by the team at Characterise Renovations.
An example of this was adding aluminium louvres to two prominent sides of the entertainment area rather than clear roll down blinds on all sides.

This not only looked fantastic, but allowed greater flexibility around sun, light and privacy.
Now we have a wonderful stylish area that can be fully enclosed or thrown open to the sunshine. It doubles as a further living area and is cosy even during winter with its outdoor fire. Outdoor entertaining is now a breeze, with only a few adjourning steps to the kitchen.
We would happily recommend Characterise as the job was done professionally and without fuss.
Unforeseen remedial work can often appear with renovations and Terry made suggestions and came up with solutions as the job progressed.
