Although the kitchen/family area in our villa always faced north, it had limited sunlight due to small windows and doors letting in only limited light.

We wanted to open up this space to the sun, as well as expand our family room.

Being a double brick character villa, our home contained many original features and we were concerned that the addition and finer detail needed to be in keeping with the original house.

We were recommended Terry by two different sources and having met him felt he and his team were the right people to entrust our house with. From the initial meeting Terry had practical suggestions to further enhance our project such as making one of the windows in the new cellar basement a fire escape.

This continued throughout the project, with Terry exhibiting excellent project management skills, liaising effectively with a wide range of third parties including architects, kitchen designers and cellar racking specialists.

We were thrilled with his redesign of our windows and doors along the rear of the house, further enhancing the original architectural design.

“Terry added immense value to our renovation from his contribution to the concept and design through to high attention to detail and flawless craftsmanship. We would unreservedly recommend Terry and Characterise renovations to anyone looking for a perfect outcome to their project.”

Now we spend much of our time in our new kitchen/family area, and love the sun and light stream in all day, transforming it to a warm and comforting area. We are thrilled with the attention to detail that went into matching the original house to the addition, including replicating a complete outdoor gable to match the front of the house.
